February 23, 2017 – The largest turnout ever recorded for Developmental Disabilities Day at the Legislature with 725 people with developmental disabilities and their families, staff and advocates registered for the event in Annapolis, MD. Governor Larry Hogan, DHMH Secretary Shrader and state legislators spoke to an overflow crowd about their commitment to helping people with developmental disabilities.  In addition to General Assembly Committee Chairs Senator Thomas “Mac” Middleton and Delegate Maggie McIntosh, speakers included Senator Guy Guzzone and Delegates Bonnie Cullison,  Eric Luedtke and  Eric Ebersole.  DRM’s Managing Attorney Nancy Pineles made the final “call to action.”  DD Day is an annual event sponsored by the DD Coalition: People on the Go, The Arc Maryland, Maryland Association of Community Services, The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council and Disability Rights Maryland.
