Supported Decision-Making Stakeholders Meeting

December 7 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

DRM invites you to a Supported Decision-Making Stakeholder Meeting on December 7th, 2018 from 2 pm to 5pm at the Hussman Institute for Autism. People with disabilities, their supporters and their providers are welcome to attend and talk more about what supported decision-making is and how it can be used to benefit our client communities in Maryland. Maryland may consider supported decision-making legislation in the upcoming session and we need input on what you see as important in a supported decision-making law and how it can work in practice.

Supported decision-making is a process by which people pick others they know and trust to assist them in making, communicating and effectuating decisions. It is gaining traction as a legal alternative to guardianship across the country and around the world. Under supported decision-making agreements, the individual retains the ability to make decisions for themselves with support.

Join us on December 7th to learn more and discuss how it may work in practice for you. Please RSVP to this event by contacting:
